Dynamic and seismic analysis of structures

The module focuses on competency-based learning, with learning stages and targets as well as TICs within an innovative educational environment:

  • Dynamic analysis: free and forced vibrations of both single and multi-degree of freedom systems: harmonic, periodic, shock loading, shock absorbers, vibration alleviation, tuned mass dampers (TMD).
  • Earthquake engineering: fundamentals of seismology; design of earthquake resistant structures and seismic retrofit.

Additional info

Required skills on Computational Mechanics, Simulation software such as MatLab and finite- element method based-software.
